/Kenya /Joy's Camp
Remote, rugged Shaba National Reserve is the backdrop to Joy’s Camp, where renowned author and conservationist, Joy Adamson, lived until her death in the mid-80s. Here she re-introduced Penny, a leopard, to the wild and wrote her last book, ‘Queen of Shaba’. The camp has a small museum of memorabilia and is the perfect choice for anyone interested in Kenyan history. The 10 luxurious tents are decorated with handmade glass and the vibrant fabrics of the local tribes, creating a chic, sophisticated and stylish look. Within Shaba, Joy’s Camp is the sole provider of game drives, so you have the whole reserve to yourself.
